DAN AUERBACH PLAYS NEW SONGS AT MHOW

Black Keys front man Dan Auerbach gave us a taste of his soon to be released sophomore solo LP Waiting on a Song Friday night at Music Hall of Williamsburg.

Auerbach was backed by a bunch of guys he claimed were always hanging out at his Nashville studio, Easy Eye Sound.  You could definitely hear the Nashville influence on these songs, especially his new single “Shine on Me,” for which he received help from guitar legend Mark Knopfler.  Although the Dire Straits front man was not there that night, you could hear his guitar twang in that song.

The sold out show was broadcast on Sirius XM’s The Spectrum channel.  It was a fifteen-song set that contained songs from his first solo record Keep It Hid, some from Waiting on a Song as well as some never-heard before songs that won’t be on the June 2nd release.

He ended the night with an encore of “Shine on Me” followed by an acoustic solo of “Goin’ Home.”  If you’d like to catch Dan, you still have a chance.  He’ll be back June 8th at the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal for The WhiskyX.   It’s a whisky tasting with food and a performance by Dan Auerbach and his band.
