On day two of the CMJ Music Marathon I saw many acts including The Helio Sequence, Arc Iris, and Optic Yellow Felt, but one act still resonates in my mind today. Adi Ulmansky… Hailing from Israel she made her first public appearance on an Israeli version of American Idol in 2007. She has since released multiple videos and has been featured in press throughout the world. She is now leaving her mark on the U.S.
That night I stumbled into the small intimate venue Fat Baby on the Lower East Side where I was met by the powerhouse hip-hop artist Adi. I had never heard of her before which made it all the better. The venue was packed with press and diehard fans looking to get a glimpse of the singer. I knew, and everyone else in the room knew, they were seeing something special. In my opinion this is the definition of a break out artist, and I am sure you will be seeing her again.
