One of our favorite performances of the CMJ Music Marathon was Rocket and the Ghost at the Living Room in the Lower East Side. These guys really have something special going on.
USA Today Says:
Rocket & The Ghost drops this gleaming nugget,Gold, a pretty, yearning midtempo love song off its debut, the five-track Self-Titled EP. Produced by Wilson Brown, the set was recorded live to tape at Excello Studios in Brooklyn and also featuresDaylight, Shame, Howling and Goodbye. It arrives Nov. 5.
“I feel like a recording is only special when it conveys the personality of everyone involved,” singer/songwriter/guitarist Kiyoshi Matsuyama says in statement. The indie rock quintet also includes bassist Brian Kesley, drummer Stuart Bidwell, guitarist Sean Gavigan and keyboardist Alan Markley. For more on the band, visit

“We really put ourselves into these songs,” Matsuyama adds. “I hope people hear that first before they think about the style we play in or what other people are saying about it. I hope they hear people that care about each other playing the music that they love.”
If you missed their amazing performance you can see them next Saturday Nov 9th at the Rockwood Music Hall.
