Describing Watermelon is a bit of a trick: one part funk, one part soul, and equal parts insane, the band goes out of its way to defy genres. Despite a laid-back, inspired approach to the music, Watermelon has already amassed a massive following for its size, stretching up and down the East Coast – the packed Brooklyn Bowl was a testament to their draw. What ultimately captures, though, is the experience: Watermelon is a band that you can sit back into, suck in, and feel good about. With everything else that we have to worry about on a daily basis, music should not be one of them. With Watermelon, worries are your last…worry.
