For our first bash, P&W invited local tunester Tyler McCauley, the mastermind of Motion Studies, to entice us with bass heavy electronic tunes.
If the biggest form of flattery really is imitation, we have to admit: McCauley flatters a LOT of people, but with a subtlety you don’t notice on first glance. The eerie synth progressions in the bridge of “In White” imitate the 70s stadium rock guitars, forming a psychedelic electronic anthem, while “Hearts Will Beat” screams for a remix with Kanye’s “Blood On The Leaves.” Either way, and just as the Latin phrase nomen est omen states, Motion Studies wants you to do one thing and one thing only: For you to shake your booty. Whether you dance your name, do the robot or waka waka your hips like Shakira, that’s your call. Just don’t do the Brooklyn thing, and stand there with your PBR in your hand, staring at the stage with a miserable smirk on your face. Motion Studies calls for action.
