First things first, Glasslands Gallery is a great venue to see up-and-coming bands in a very intimate setting, so I really enjoyed seeing Ski Lodge here for the first time, along with their opening act Jack & Eliza. Jack & Eliza are a NYC duo that has this pleasant way of overlapping each other; creating beautiful harmonies. Their refreshing sound was a great way to start off the night.
Ski Lodge is this super cool, super indie-rock quartet from New York that will make you fall in love with their 80’s feel instantly. They might be one of the most underrated bands I’ve seen in a while. I overheard a fan from the crowd say to her friend “I didn’t want the song to end”, about “Looking for a Change”, (one of my favorite songs they played.) They capture that tortured soul perfectly. If you’re into mopey lyrics, exciting energy and melodies that makes you want to dance and cry at the same time, then songs like “Does it Bring you down” and “Just to be like You”, will be such a filling experience for you. You can listen to Ski Lodge and enjoy them from start to finish, so if you haven’t yet…I’d get on that!
