The delicious STRNGRS band started up our amazing night with infectious tunes and sultry riffs, how could you not fall in love with their sound. Each band member of the trio brings something special onto their set and will most definitely catch your attention from the start. STRNGRS front man, Carson Kelley knows how to belt out some melt your face kinda of vocals, while Garrett Drinon amazingly shreds at addicting guitar riffs, and Chase McGowan kills it at the drums( I really wish I knew how to play the drums!!); dear lord, this is not a band to be missed if you ever get a chance to see them. Up next, was the amazing Blue & Gold band; seriously just wow!! They have the sultriest sound and somewhat reminiscent of early Black Keys with lady guitarists/singers. While waiting for a drink at the bar, I couldn’t help dancing and smiling because their lyrics and oh so good guitar riffs are earnestly baby making music. Once onstage, you can tell that they have amazing chemistry and that’s a huge component for a band to have onstage and get the audience to love them.
As soon as Taymir hit the stage, you couldn’t help but really love their look; they started with their infectious indie pop sounds hailing from The Netherlands. This is definitely a promising band with great music that will get you in a great mood if you’re having a bad day. We are so glad Taymir was part of the showcase, they really rocked Pianos and we even overheard a couple of ladies say how awesome they were live and we most certainly agree. Live video
We surely fell in love with Cymbals, a band from London with an awesome sound that made people dance and the synths and beats floated amazingly through the crowded room. They began their set with a catchy tune and had a couple of girls dancing, this is a great to catch live, they will have you dancing as soon as they begin. Live video
Great Caesar, continued to the warm night with a great performance and beautiful lyrics, they warmed our heart with a reminiscent of Edward and the Shapes; just like Blue and Gold, this band has an adorable chemistry together. I definitely swooned and smiled along the crowd as they played, “Don’t Ask Me Why.” Hopefully we will see more of this talented band!!
And last but not least, Le Galaxie finished up our boozy, dancy, fantastic night; hailing from Dublin, Ireland this band completed our showcase in such a kick ass way. Their energy was beyond what we were expecting; their single, “Carmen” is just so delectably good. It’s great not to know what to expect from a band because that’s exactly when they blow your mind and you get addicted.
We are so proud of the turnout and the fantastic bands that played, once again thank you to all who came out and supported us. We can’t wait to see you again at CMJ 2015!!!!!!
