It’s time for the 2015 Don Giovanni Records Showcase hosting some fabulous, rocking bands. All three nights of the event will be held at the Knitting Factory. The showcase begins on Friday, February 6th followed by the second night on Saturday, February 7th. Both shows begin at 7 p.m. and will be hosted by comedian Chris Gethard. The third night of the showcase will not be until February 28th in order to celebrate the sixth record release, Rose Mountain, of the Screaming Females.
Performances for February 6th include Nude Beach, Shellshag, The Hamiltons, Mal Blum, Black Wine, and Crow Bait. Enjoy some alternative rock from Mal Blum, which will stand alone, but surely strong amidst the more gritty punk sounds of Black Wine, Crowbait, Shellshag, The Hamiltons, and Brooklyn based Nude Beach. February 7th will showcase California X, Downtown Boys, Pinkwash, Worriers, Brick Mower, Nuclear Santa Claust, and Alice. This second night of the showcase, Brooklyn band Nuclear Santa Claust will be celebrating the release of their record, Je Ne Sais Claust. Tickets here.
On February 28th, the final night of the showcase, the Screaming Females will celebrate the February 24th release of their latest record, Rose Mountain. The opening track off the record is titled “Empty Head,” and you can check it out here. The Screaming Females are made up of Marissa Paternoster on vocals and guitar, King Mike on bass, and Jarrett Dougherty on drums. Priests, Tenement, and Vacation will be sharing the stage with the Screaming Females that night. The show begins at 7 p.m. Tickets here.
For the first two nights of the showcase, tickets are $12 in advance and $14 the day of each show. Tickets cost $15 for the third night.
