Fort Lean is a five piece local rock band from Brooklyn NY. Their song “I Don’t Mind” starts as a funky song that calls to mind tip offs to millennial favorites like the Gorillaz and Alabama Shakes, which sounds like a weird, combination but it totally kills. The drums and bass funk along and the single “I Don’t Mind” comes off their first LP called Quiet Day which is set to be released this coming spring. There are reverbed guitars, tambourines, handclapping and a hooky chorus that goes “You think that I don’t mind / I guess it’s just my time.” It’s simple, charming rock music that’s thoroughly modern in its approach and spans an eclectic smattering of influences. Look out for these guys in the coming years!
