HANNAH GILL MESMERIZED THE ROCKWOOD CROWD

Hannah Gill played Rockwood Music Hall’s Stage 1 Monday night. Stage 1 is an intimate room which I have not had the pleasure of attending before last night. Hannah Gill was a perfect fit for this room. Her mesmerizing, soulful voice filled the room amazingly. It’s hard to believe she’s only seventeen years old! She’s been in “the business” for just two years now. After covering a variety of musical styles, she finally built up the courage to write her own songs. She played these originals; “Medicine,” “Evergreen,” “Story of a Man” and “I Feel Awake” as well as covers from Joe Cocker, Aretha Franklin and Sam Cooke.
