On Friday, March 6th, Brooklyn’s Isadora performed for a full and appreciative house at Rough Trade in Williamsburg. The local quintet utilized synthesizers, guitars, bass, drums and violin to create a sort of rolling soundscape—one that was direct and atmospheric, jagged and melodic. Isadora’s music is precise and polished, but also unabashedly emotional. It is above all deeply listenable. They are also great fun to see live. Isadora shared the bill with The Big Sleep, Slothrust, and Spritzer (a new project formed out of New York band, Friend Roulette), with DJ William Irish getting things started.
