Ok, maybe you aren’t the *entire* reason he drinks. But even if you were an angel (how likely is that?), Dad still deserves some tasty stuff this year for Father’s Day. It’s June 21st, so you’ve got a little time yet – get to shopping!
You can’t go wrong with a bottle of delicious whiskey – there’s a bottle for every budget. For around $30, you can get him 10-12 year old whiskey – your age when he still liked you as a kid. Try Evan Williams, McKenna or George Dickel. If your budget can handle it (or your guilt dictates it), $50 will get you some fine whiskey like Angel’s Envy. Your teenage years were like mine? So up you go to the $80-$120 range – that’ll get Dad a bottle from the Orphan Barrel series (Lost Prophet has been my favorite so far) or a bottle of Scotch. You can’t go wrong with a bottle of Glenfiddich or Balvenie. And don’t forget all those great craft whiskies – that same $30-$50 will get you a local bottle, made from local ingredients – look for Troy & Sons Oak Reserve, anything from Corsair and Journeyman Distillers are among my favorites.
