VIDEO PREMIERE: “ADAPTATION” BY LAZYEYES

Bad days, we all have them, it’s unavoidable even for the happiest of people, but this bad day is like no other. In this brilliant video for “Adaptation” from Lazyeyes, which is loosely based off Oldboy; an obscure psychological-thriller. In the film, a shady man is drugged and kept prisoner while his ex wife is tortured and his daughter is adopted. He is given the necessary essentials to survive including basic hygiene items, meager portions of processed food, vitamin pills and a pint of vodka with every meal to prevent withdrawal, but do not provide reason for his imprisonment.

Directed and filmed by Micah Weisberg and Bill Dvorak of Young Heart Productions, they do a masterful job in creating a vison for the driving and manic song that Lazyeyes created. With hammering percussion, distorted vocals and unrelenting guitars – three main themes are represented – fear, desperation and resignation. With each new emotion, the song amps up, drawing us in, wondering what the fuck is going on.
