Black lights and warm nights were part of our fun filled Thursday night at Music Hall of Williamsburg. It’s easy to forget how intimate this beautiful venue can be; from being able to stand front and center without fighting your way through the crowd, to making random friends on the dance floor. With its incredible acoustics, this venue will make any show more than memorable.
Seeing Mystery Skulls live is always a pleasure and so much fun. The first time I saw him was when he had opened for this crazy and awesome band named Cherub at Terminal 5, it was then that I fell in love with his music. Ever since, I always make sure to catch him live. It’s impossible to describe his sound, but if you cross the Hotline Miami soundtracks and the enigmatic Prince, that would be one of the ways to describe what Mystery Skulls is about.
Just like his song “Magic,” his shows are always truly magic. While getting lost in the crowd, I made a random friend on the dance floor and we danced for the rest of the set; proof that his shows are the best. It was probably the best night I’ve have all month!
Playing his remixes in between his songs made the set so different and unique because they added an element of surprise which not many artists get to do. As he is talented, he’s a total sweetheart, he was signing cd’s and greeting fans beforehand and being the fan girl that I am I asked for a selfie with him and he happily obliged.
