The time was 12:06 and Caveman frontman Matthew Iwanusa decided to start the countdown to midnight and the day of the release of Caveman’s newest album, Otero War. Despite the show’s announcement just earlier that day, the live room at Baby’s All Right was filled to the brim with adoring fans of the indie rock band’s neo-New Wave sound. The set was comprised entirely of tunes from the new album, many of which were live premieres. Otero War, which has the qualities of an instant-classic, is full of catchy songs that beg to played live. It made for a fun night and Caveman showed they can continue to evolve as a band.
