Being Yankees (not the baseball team), we don’t usually get much quality Americana or roots-rock music in these parts, but The Hollows are trying to make that easier for us and with their new zany video for “Jamestown,” it’s something we can really sink our teeth into.
Starting with some banjo plucking, we feel at ease, then it all breaks into organized chaos which makes us want to dance around with a bottle of our favorite hooch while lighting off fireworks. There’s a lot going on and we love it – to the spastic vocals, the pounding bass, the slide guitar and the full sounding keyboards all come together for a hootenanny of the best kind.
The video follows the tempo of the music, it’s fun, wild at times and throws you a curveball at every turn – like what is with the bullet game…is that a Jamestown thing? At any rate, this is a fun-ass video with a group of guys who really enjoy what they do, and it shows in spades. “Jamestown” is off their latest full length called Between the Water and the Wonder Wheel, which was released in early June and can be purchased here.
