pronoun, aka Alyse Vellturo, held an EP release show at Mercury Lounge Tuesday night.
NYC indie rockers Blonder opened the night. I’m sure happy I got there early enough to see these guys and I’m looking forward to hearing more of them in the near future. It seems they’ve been opening for a lot of bands locally and it shouldn’t be long before they’re headlining their own shows.
pronoun, who wrote her EP “There’s no one new around you” alone in her “shitty apartment in Brooklyn,” took the stage with a full band. She played all of the songs on her EP as well as an acoustic cover of Gnarls Barkley’s “Crazy” and a new song she wrote on Friday. This new song “The Way” was a response to this year’s Presidential election results. She sang about “the way you make me feel” and I have a suspicion it wasn’t too good. But if you want to feel good, check out the EP on her website.
