On Thursday, May 11th, at Baby’s All Right in Williamsburg; Boston duo Tall Heights headlined a beautiful musical night with support from up-and-coming singer/songwriter, Henry Jamison. Jamison, who only has released an EP, started the night off with a gripping solo set, in which he had the entire crowd’s attention for every word. This Vermont native is an amazing songwriter, and someone who will make you enjoy and appreciate the beauty of music through his lyrics and guitar playing.
After Jamison finished his set, the crowd was definitely ready for the headliners, Tall Heights. This song writing duo, singer/guitarist Tim Harrington and singer/cellist Paul Wright, perform as a trio when they add drummer/singer Paul Dumas. With melodic singing and beautifully crafted songs, they instantly relax and mediate the listener to another place. Having a cellist with an effects pedals set up comparable to most guitar players now playing, this gives this raising band a sound comparable to Bon Iver, with their tone and approach to song structure. I look forward to the opportunity to seeing both of these up-and-coming acts perform and release more great music.
