Stop whatever you’re doing, because it’s time pop your headphones on and reassess the meaning of life. In a much-needed rush of good news this year, RZA just announced that there’s a brand new Wu-Tang Clan album on the horizon, Wu-Tang: The Saga Continues, due for release on October 13th. This will mark the legendary group’s first widely available record since 2014’s A Better Tomorrow, and it’s reportedly being crafted by DJ Mathematics, with RZA himself serving as executive producer.
“For years, Math has had the idea of putting together a body of music using modern and legendary equipment such as ASR10 with vocal performances by Wu-Tang Clan members and other prominent MCs,” explained RZA in a statement. “With The Saga Continues, he’s created a masterpiece. We at 36 Chambers ALC are honored to work with Mathematics and Wu-Tang Clan to put out a great piece of art.”
The first track, “People Say [feat. Redman]” also just surfaced, packed with slick contributions from Method Man, Raekwon, Inspektah Deck and Masta Killa. It’s shrouded in dark urban vibes, with sharp wordplay and a soulful hook, and it’s hard to listen without craving their insane live presence. Listen right here and check out their just-announced tour dates below (including stops in Buffalo and Brooklyn!).
