ROBERT PLANT ANNOUNCES 2018 TOUR DATES & SHARES DUET WITH CHRISSIE HYNDE

The thrill of seeing Robert Plant live – weaving in imaginative new material with showstopping Led Zeppelin classics – is one that has stuck with us ever since his 2015 NYC performance at the Hammerstein Ballroom. And we’ve got some very good news: if you couldn’t make it then, you now have another chance; not to mention some fresh music to get you warmed up for the experience. The legendary rocker has announced a 2018 North American Tour with his Sensational Space Shifters, featuring a must-see New York date at the Beacon Theatre – on the best possible night for a whole lotta’ love, Valentine’s Day, February 14th. Tickets go onsale to the general public tomorrow, September 29th, at 11am EDT so keep this link handy and don’t sleep too late on Friday. Everyone who purchases a ticket will receive a free CD or digital copy of the new album on which he’s touring, entitled Carry Fire, upon its release on October 13th.

Admittedly, both dates feel somewhat far away, but thanks to Plant, we have an early taste of his new album to quench our thirst in the meantime. In an awesome collaboration with Chrissie Hynde of The Pretenders that will appear on Carry Fire, Plant takes the 1958 Ersel Hickey rockabilly staple, “Bluebirds Over the Mountain,” into a totally new realm, and the two icons sound fantastic singing together. “It’s about intention,” Plant said in the press release. “I respect and relish my past works but each time I feel the trawl and incentive to create new work. I must mix old with new. Consequently, the whole impetus of the band has moved on its axis somewhat, the new sound and different space giving way to exciting and dramatic landscapes of mood, melody and instrumentation.”

Listen right here, pre-order the album here, and don’t miss out on the ticket sale tomorrow. Check out Robert Plant’s just-announced 2018 tour dates below.
