It’s always great day when we receive a blistering rock track in our emails and with the newest video from Nashville’s True Villains called “Blood In The Water,” we can headbang unashamedly. The Nashville rockers have stayed busy during this absolutely insane year and that’s good news for us as they bring us a good old-fashioned, no-frills rocker that was produced by Nick Raskulinecz (Foo Fighters, Rush, Velvet Revolver, Queens of The Stone Age, Alice In Chains, Coheed and Cambria).
“Blood In The Water” hits hard right off the bat with explosive and intricate guitars that mesh perfectly with the thumping bass/percussion and when lead singer Beau Lastavich lets loose, his soaring vocals rise to the top. While the video is fairly simple, it is a fun and engaging treat that reminds us how much we miss seeing a live band perform. True Villains, as a newer group, has already experienced the shitty side of the music biz and according to the band, the new track “is about the difficulties of the entertainment industry. In the beginning it’s very innocent and fun. As you try and advance yourself you meet a lot of people who just give you false hope. This song is just a middle finger to all of that. The song could really apply to anyone who is sick of being taken advantage of.”
