What a party!!! Pancakes and Whiskey had our very first annual holiday party and thank the gorgeous and fun folks who celebrated the sold out night at Rough Trade with us. We started our night with Four Roses Bourbon and The Brooklyn Brewery which went down super smooth and had everyone in the holiday spirit.
Stargazy, originating from Long Island, NY started up the night with infectious, danceable tunes. These guys were amazing from start to finish and the crowd even asked for more by yelling, “ENCORE, ENCORE!!” When that happens, you know for sure they are a wickedly good band. There was no possible way you couldn’t find yourself dancing along to their multi-faceted and addictive sound. It was great to see the crowd slowly warming up to them – to fully loving them. The energy grew because you could tell that they really love what they do and have so much fun on stage. Maybe it was the Four Roses bourbon, the holiday lights, or the great crowd; but Stargazy was purely magical. Watch them perform “Golden Hour” in the video below
Up next, DREAMERS, charmingly walked across the stage and completely won us over with their grungy, punk rock sound. Lead singer, Nick Wold, can really belt out some bittersweet lyrics along to their psychedelic indie-rock rhythyms. The night had started on an amazing roll and DREAMERS definitely continued our insanely-awesome night with their appealing stage presence. We were definitely swooning over their vigorous songs and interesting attitude. Watch Dreamers play a few fantastic tunes in the video below.
Finishing up the crowded night at Rough Trade was The Dig, whose catchy shoe gaze inspired rock, had the crowd looking giddy and dancing. With dreamy shoe gaze lyrics and reverberating bass and drums, you couldn’t possibly ask for more. They played songs from their third release – “You & I.” This is the type of band would we would be selfishly into while in high school thinking about our crush. Watch The Dig cover Tom Petty’s Holiday classic “Christmas All Over Again” in the video below.
Be sure to definitely check all of these fantastic bands out!! You won’t be disappointed.
A very special thank you to Crosley Radio, Jabra, and Phrased by JAYS for giving us the opportunity to hook up some very lucky winners with sweet prizes to enjoy music a whole lot more.
We seriously cannot thank everyone for coming out Friday night and helping us celebrate with the Pancakes and Whiskey team. We hope you have a wonderful holiday and get to celebrate more shows with us in 2015!!!
