CRUISR ENERGIZES THE STUDIO AT WEBSTER HALL

The indie-pop band known as CRUISR rolled into Webster Hall’s intimate studio on Wednesday night to a packed room of college aged ladies and their boyfriends. The Philly rock band fits right into that slot of modern pop-rock similar to The 1975 or Junior Prom with radio-friendly tunes that late-teens can totally fall into.

Though they played an unusually short headlining set, the band helped those college-aged twenty-somethings dance around with their cell phones sky high to songs off their most recent EP, All Over. As well as a few other unreleased tunes. You can never tell the quality of live show you’re going to get with rock bands that are more into the pop realm, but CRUISR easily held their own on stage as a band with energy, and simple yet effective lead guitar fills by Bruno Catrambone. Andy Skates can also fit right into the talented frontman role. His tenor vocals and easily playable chord progressions make for that simple and effective song styles in the top 40 relm.
