Monday
Amy Helm @ DROM – If you failed to catch Amy opening for Dr. John at Central Park SummerStage the other day, fear not. The daughter of the late, great, Levon Helm will be playing a much more intimate show at DROM celebrate the release of her debut solo LP ‘Didn’t It Rain’ featuring the final recordings of her father.
Tuesday
Hot Chip @ Webster Hall – In what should be one hell of an indie-electronica dance party, Hot Chip rolls into town in support of their 6th album release Why Make Sense? Headlining the Grand Ballroom both Tuesday and Wednesday nights, expect one hell of a show from these guys with a little something different each night.
Incubus + Deftones @ PNC Center – If you did your growing up in the 90’s, these two bands will bring you right back to the decade of angst, art and self awareness with their art-rock stylings.
Wednesday
Miguel @ Bowery Ballroom – Hot off his well received recent album Wildheart, the pop/R&B singer is in town playing a string of NYC shows, but expect this one to be his most intimate and possibly best.
Thursday
Caribou @ East River Park – I wasn’t able to see Caribou at Bonnaroo because someone thought it’d be a good idea to have his set time the same as Florence + The Machine and Robert Plant. However, this being a free show right on the east river, expect the LES to be dancing all night long to one of Canada’s best musical exports.
So So Glos @ Webster Hall – Arguably one of the top local punk bands, So So Glos bring noise, attitude, and a nasty pit to go nuts in every time they play their home town. They’ll be opening for Desaparecidos in the Grand Ballroom so make sure to get a spot super close to stage early!
Friday
Summer Elite NYC Yacht Event feat. Jared Evan – NYC’s premiere summer yacht event welcoming some of the hottest creative tastemakers in NYC sets sail for a kick start to the weekend. Open bar, performances from Jared Evan and Clair Riley-Roe, and NYC harbor at sunset, what more could you ask for to end the week?
Justin Townes Earle @ Music Hall of Williamsburg – One of the more prominent names in Americana/folk scene in Nashville, Justin released his sixth full-length album back in January. A true singer-songwriter in every sense, Justin’s songwriting ability shines as one of the best in the songwriting city’s collection of talent.
Saturday
Great Caesar @ Rough Trade – Hopefully you caught Great Caesar’s epic set during our CMJ show at Pianos, way back when. If not. you’re missing out on one of NYC’s most eclectic indie rock bands. Coming home after some out of town shows around the country, it should be their biggest and best show yet. They also do a sick version of Amy Winehouse’s “Valarie.”
Tune-Yards @ Prospect Park – First of all, this is a free show, on a Saturday – so if you plan on going, get there early, as this show will be at capacity! Once you get inside, you will be treated to one of the fastest rising acts touring at the moment in Tune-Yards. Using loop pedals to create beats on the fly, Tune-yards will have you losing your mind and dancing with your neighbor.
Sunday
Sticky Fingers @ Baby’s All Right – Sticky Fingers, hailing from Australia brings a mix of genres to the table – including reggae, psych and pop, that is infectious, groovy and danceable.
