PANCAKE PICKS: THE BEST SHOWS OF THE WEEK FOR 11-24

You all feel that outside? It’s old man winter knocking on our door, but be aware there’s still great shows to catch this week, albeit somewhat light due to the holiday. There’s not much happening on Thanksgiving, so we’ll skip turkey day. Check out our Pancake Picks below to help you sort your musical week.

Tuesday

Sick Walt @ Mercury Lounge – So we heard you like your punk music loud and brash, like the good old days. Sick Walt will throttle you to oblivion if you make it to the LES for an early show.

The Wombats @ Terminal 5 – These Liverpool rockers are coming back to NYC and will be bringing their high-octane live show with them.

Wednesday

Beat Connection @ Mercury Lounge – You’re about to eat approximately 10,000 calories in a few short hours; why not get a pre-Thanksgiving workout in the best way possible – while dancing to the infectious hooks from Beat Connection.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Friday

My Morning Jacket @ The Beacon – If you’ve never seen MMJ live, you are missing out. This band is considered one of the best live groups in the world for good reason as they bring a different setlist and three hour shows each night. This time, we are all in for a treat for a four show run at the historic Beacon Theatre and there’s still tickets to be had.

Saturday

The Weight @ Brooklyn Bowl – Celebrating the works of the legends – The Band – with original members Jim Weider and Randy Ciarlante, this will be a radio-friendly throwback night worthy of our attention.

Sunday

They Might Be Giants @ MHOW – Our favorite nerd-rockers are back with a special “Evening With” show, which is sure to end the holiday week on a high note.
