Monday
St. Lucia @ Rough Trade – Brooklyn’s own via way of South Africa, St. Lucia have arrived with their follow up to their well-received debut album with their sophomore effort, Matter. For those who’ve bought the new album at Rough Trade, bring your wristband and join the first come first serve special acoustic set!
Tuesday
Peach Kings @ Knitting Factory – L.A.’s duo The Peach Kings played our CMJ showcase a few years back, and have since become a rising name in Los Angeles’ indie rock scene. They just might also be a guest on an upcoming podcast episode.
Best Behavior @ Pianos – This local band released their debut full-length, Good Luck Bad Karma back in September and will start them month-long Pianos residency on Tuesday. Catchy garage rock band with an easygoing 60s surf rock vibe to them.
Wednesday
Savoir Adore @ Baby’s All Right – Tick another in the win column for another one of Neon Gold’s incredible indie artists, this dreamy rock duo from Brooklyn released a new single last week with “Lovers Wake,” and look to put on a great show in the middle of your week.
Matt Corby @ Rough Trade – This Singer/songwriter import from Australia has been making waves the last few years and is touring off his upcoming album “Telluric,” which is due out in March.
Thursday
Emily Wells @ Bowery Ballroom – The very experimental singer/songstress is getting a lot of positive reaction to her new album out last week, Promise. The Singer’s new album has gotten favorable reviews from the New York Times, and NPR. She’ll be touring hard until April so why not stop into NYC and celebrate.
Oberhofer & High Waisted @ Baby’s All Right – Get to Baby’s for an outstanding lineup from some of NYC’s best bands including Oberhofer and the always amazing High Waisted.
Friday
Dr. John & The Night Trippers @ The Hall at MP – If you haven’t stopped into one of Brooklyn’s newer venues, the restaurant/concert hall with phenomenal menu will be welcoming the legend in Dr. John himself. Two great reasons to try it out for the first time on Friday.
Cherub @ Terminal 5 – Last year at this time we got to hang out with the fun dudes of Cherub and caught their highly energetic set. Don’t miss out on this gig, and bring your dancin’ shoes.
Saturday
D.A.N.C.E. @ Studio 299 – A swanky venue in Greenpoint will be hosting D.A.N.C.E., a night of DJ sets by Designer Drugs, Ultragrrrl, a performance by indie singer-songwriter Alex English, and more. Free Vodka from 10-11!
Shinobi Ninja @ Knitting Factory – We heard you like your rock music with a sprinking of rap, metal and alternative thrown in. Shinobi Ninja mixes all those styles to make their own relentless music and brings a live set like no other.
Sunday
The Skins @ Baby’s All Right – Always getting my vote, one of the hottest unknown bands in America look to follow up their Irving Plaza blowout in the hot and sweaty showroom at Baby’s, which is slowly becoming my favorite bar in NYC.
Super Bowl 50 @ Brooklyn Bowl & Knitting Factory – Don’t feel like watching the big game at home, or worse off, at your cousin’s tiny apartment with a 28 inch tv? Then hit up Brooklyn Bowl or the Knitting Factory for a hassle free experience.
