WOLFMOTHER ROCKED OUT AT WEBSTER HALL

Australian trio Wolfmother are keeping rock and roll alive! They’re out on the road in support of their fourth album Victorious led by Andrew Stockdale on guitar and vocals, and backed this time by two amazing musicians, Ian Peres on bass and keyboards and Alex Carapetis on drums.

Summoning the Gods of Rock & Roll past, these guys electrified a sold out Webster Hall Thursday night. You could not only hear, but also feel the influences of rock legends such as Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, The Ramones and even some Beatles. (While streaming them on my way to the show I even heard a funky, Bee Gee’s-esque demo version of “Woman” which I need to get my hands on)!

Stockdale’s been the core of this band since it’s debut album Wolfmother in 2005 and now, over ten years later, and with a new touring lineup, he’s still hammering out a live show not to be missed. The fifteen song set contained songs from all four albums including hits “Woman,” “White Unicorn” and “Joker & the Thief” off the debut album as well as “Victorious,” “The Love That You Give” and “Gypsy Caravan” from the new Victorious album. They won’t be back in the area until May where they’re part of a bill including Disturbed and Shinedown among others.
