Brooklyn’s own Color Tongue are out with a brand new music video for “Stove,” the upbeat, acoustic treat from their latest album, Sprouts – and we’re stoked to premiere it right here on Pancakes & Whiskey today. Get a first look up above!
“Stove,” which closes out the album with an esoteric call-to-arms (“Pick it up, my son”) and a heart-thumping increase in tempo, is in good hands with director Hugo Salvaterra in this soft-focus, backyard film. And while it starts with the ol’ band-sitting-in-a-circle acoustic format, Color Tongue surprise us in less than a minute, suddenly smashing their instruments and dancing in the splintered remains.
It’s a perfectly messy-and-free image for the unshackled tone of the song, and you can’t help but get sucked into all their destructive fun. If you want to hear more from these guys, you can catch Color Tongue at Gold Sounds in Brooklyn tomorrow night for their big Christmas show, which is sure to be sweet. Tickets are available here.
