What can you say about a legend that has been performing for nearly thirty years that already hasn’t been said before? The answer is – not much! With over ten solo albums, countless Grammy award nominations and a fan-base that adores her, Tori can do what she damn pleases, and we will love it!
Tori Amos brought her Unrepentant Geraldines Tour 2014 to the legendary Beacon theater for two nights and judging by the first show, the second will be amazing and dreamy. Tori played a lengthy set including fan favorites “Beauty of Speed” and “Cornflake Girl” which had many dancing in their seats, probably wishing it wasn’t a seated venue. Halfway through the show the set turned into the “Lizard Lounge” for a few songs which involved mash-ups including Faith-Fayth where she took George Michael’s “Faith” classic and mashed it with her own, similarly named tune, Fayth. The response was overwhelming and followed with a another cut-up of “Wicked Game” by Chris Isaac and Lana Del Rey’s “Blue Jeans” which can be seen here.
After nearly two hours of originals and covers the night ended and I overheard many saying “I cannot wait for tomorrow night”. Tickets are still available for tonight’s gig, I wouldn’t miss it if I were you.
