VIDEO PREMIERE: SINK INTO “ISLANDS” BY MY GOODNESS AS YOU SPIN THEIR NEW LP

If you savvy listeners are not acquainted with this fine band already, then NYC, meet My Goodness. The Seattle blues/garage rock band — made up of founding duo Andy Lum and Joel Schneider, plus new lineup additions Duke Evers, Josh Starkel and Kyle Veazey — are getting a lot of well-deserved buzz right now, and their sophomore album, Scavengers (first unveiled via Noisey this past Tuesday) is officially hitting shelves today. So the Pancakes & Whiskey crew is stoked to be celebrating the release in the coolest way possible — by premiering this badass, beautifully-produced music video for “Islands,” the first track on the new record.

The video’s enigmatic plot details, portrayed in quick cuts of mixed media and vibrant nighttime cinematography, are as engrossing as the song itself, and worth a few watches so you can enjoy piecing them all together. “Many Americans might feel like they’re stuck on some sort of bad trip right now,” the band said of the new work. “There are moments when I have to pinch myself because our current reality seems so outlandish and unbelievable. One thing that brings me peace is remembering that even though we’re currently on this wild ride, we have the power to make things better. Like any bad trip, this will pass. Remember to vote.”

You can follow My Goodness on Facebook, Twitter & Instagram — and of course, grab a copy of their just-released album here!
