A very busy tour schedule in the month of August saw Best Behavior cover 17 shows in 22 days. Their high energy garage-pop sound saw them through multiple states nationwide before their hometown show on Friday night at The Mercury Lounge in New York City. Although they typically play as a four piece, they kitted out tonight as a trio, and, although they were exhausted from the long days on the road it was obvious from the get-go that these guys were more than ready, willing, and able to bring this tour to a close with a bang.
Lead singer and guitarist Alex Gruenburg was a man of few words between the songs, leaving most of the chitchat to drummer Chris Jimenez. Together with bass player Daniel Jacobson it’s very clear that these three gents have a great rapport, which is not always evident watching bands who can sometimes appear to be just going through the motions. This is definitely not the case here and as the gig really got up to temperature, they seemed to be collectively having the time of their lives on stage and egged the audience on to get in on the action. Highlights included “Say,” “In The City At Night,” and, the closer “Bad Habit.”
Best Behavior have just released the single “Say” and the video for the song will drop on September 6th. This release will then be followed by an EP, which will be out later this year. You can catch them live at Rough Trade in Brooklyn NY on 9/27.
