Guns N’ Roses completed their three night run at Madison Square Garden last night as part of the “Not In This Lifetime” Tour, hitting all major arenas this time after last summer’s stadium run which had them in Metlife for two nights. The “original” linup which included Slash, Duff & Axl, backed by Richard Fortus on guitars, Dizzy Reed on keys, Frank Ferrer on drums and Melissa Reese on keys.
It might be their last area appearance for a while, the massive three and a half hour set included over 30 songs spanning every single album and included other tributes and many covers such as the Who’s “The Seeker,” “Black Hole Sun” by Soundgarden (Tribute to Chris Cornell), “Wichita Lineman” by Jimmy Webb (Tribute to Glen Campbell), “attitude” by the Misfits, “Live and Let Die” by Wings, “Wish You Were Here” by Pink Floyd, “Whole Lotta Rosie” by AC/DC and of course “Knockin’ On Heave’s Door” by Dylan. A truly memorable night of music, nostalgia and pure rock and roll. The tour continues through November and ends with a hometown show at the LA Forum.
