Step into Lye Marlow’s world with this eclectic electro-pop track that meanders and wanders to all the right places. “Headlights” is a menagerie of weird clicks and pops combined with ethereal vocals that wrap themselves loosely around the listener in a way that is unassuming, but memorable. Being this is the debut single off of a future project, we are excited to hear more from this artist and luckily for all of us we can witness LYE live tonight (10-26-17) at Pianos for a 10pm set time and hope to see you there.
Of the track, LYE says, “I wrote ‘Headlights’ when I was allowing someone else’s behavior to make me feel like I wasn’t enough. The song is about challenging that inclination and asserting that anyone who doesn’t see your light is missing the point. It’s an anthem of self-empowerment, and a stance against anyone who would denigrate your character under the glare of their assumptions.”
