SONG PREMIERE: “BODY” BY KATE KAY ES

We are excited to premiere the new single from Kate Kay Es entitled, “Body,” today. With layered bits of saxophone, and simple, but yet affective percussion, the song is pop-perfected; with a real musicians’ touch that really stands out from the computer-generated-music generation. With its irresistible beats and breathy lyrics, “Body” is feel-good tune off Kate Kay Es’ upcoming, self-titled EP that is due out on 4-20-18. The songs off the EP are soulful and relatable, as we witnessed live at National Sawdust a few weeks ago and this catchy-tune is no exception and look forward to the full release.

“‘Body’ is about wanting something that you can’t have, a fleeting encounter, and also about the joy of physical intimacy. Pablo Neruda sums it up perfectly in his poem ‘Juegas Todo Los Dias’ (translation Every Day You Play) from Twenty Love Poems and a Song of Despair when he writes ‘Quiero hacer contigo, lo que la primavera hace con los cerezos’  – which translates to ‘I want to do with you what spring does with cherry trees’.

I hope, when people hear ‘Body’, they are taken to a joyful, synth filled outer space. I hope that if they are feeling or have ever felt a similar yearning for something that cannot be – that this song makes them dance and feel something else for a few minutes.” – Kate Kay Es
