Pancakes And Whiskey is excited to premiere the new tune from The Band Gooch entitled “Modern High.” The single is the title-track for their debut album, which drops on 7-12-19. Filled with chugging guitars, timely percussion and a soaring voice; ‘Modern High’ is a much needed song with a timely message that we can all relate to.
Brothers Jared and Jordan Gooch based out of Salt Lake City, started the band whilst working on a love song for Jared’s wedding and haven’t stopped since. The band’s sound, while fresh and new, is deeply influenced by bands like Green Day and Blink 182 and will leave any pop-punk fan more than satisfied.
“‘Modern High’ is an anthem about modern society. It stems from the pressures of keeping up with societal norms, and largely comes from the pressure to stay relevant and look good on social media. There are a lot of pros to social media, but also a ton of negatives. People base their being off of likes and follows, and in a weird way can become separated from real life.” – The Band Gooch

**To celebrate the release of our upcoming album, we will be playing a show at The Velour in Provo Ut on July 20. Bands Pick Pocket and Paper Elephant will be joining us on stage. They are two awesome bands and we are so excited to play with them. Overall this will be an amazing show. We have A LOT of VERY exciting things planned for this that we have never done before, there will be giveaways, merch, cd’s and all kinds of fun things.
