The Bushwick Hotel released their latest album, Graffiti of the Young Mans Mind last week and I got the golden ticket (well invitation anyways) to attend their listening party that SATURDAY. I’ve seen these guys perform 3 times, and have interviewed Gregory and Rudy earlier this fall, I knew what to expect, so I thought. The band stayed true to form, and had what felt like a house party in a railroad style space surrounded by warehouses in Bushwick of course.
The band took to the stage a little after midnight and played a few songs off the album, and the party ensued. You could tell that everyone in the crowd were not just fans, but friends of the band members, the energy was just there! Playing one of their most popular songs “Take Care Of My Girl”, the lead vocalist Gregory reminded everyone why we love The Bushwick Hotel, because “they really just came to hang out with everyone, and have a good time”
Gregory Ferreira (vocals/guitar/keyboard/ percussion), Rudy Temiz (slide guitar/background vocals), Matt La Von (tenor, alto, soprano sax/clarinet/background vocals), Erik Naslund (bass/background vocals), and Ben Teters (drums/background vocals) make up the band and you can buy their album on iTunes or follow them on Twitter @BushwickHotel
