SNOOP DOGG BRINGS HIS OLD-SCHOOL HOUSE PARTY TO THE WELLMONT

Snoop Dogg hosted an old school house party Thursday night at The Wellmont Theater in Montclair, NJ.  The diverse group in attendance was treated to a night full of DJs and hip-hop legends.

Kicking off the night was Houston, Texas-based Assholes by Nature.  Trae tha Truth and Z-Ro along with DJ Grip got everyone primed.  Trae was so thrilled to be there he documented the crowd on his Instagram and even took selfies with some lucky fans in the front row between sets.

The first of the Long Beach, California crew to take the stage was none other than Warren G. This West Coast legend rapped his own hits as well as anything else his DJ put down.  He covered Rick James’ “Mary Jane” then sparked up and segued into his own “I Need A Light.” He also covered 50 Cent’s “21 Questions” before paying tribute to Nate Dogg and ending his set with hip hop staple “Regulate.”

Long Beach newbie O.T. Genasis was the next rapper to take the mic for this house party.  Best known for his chart-topping hit “CoCo,” O.T. gave the youngsters a staple of their own to chant along with…” I’m in love with the CoCo!

Lucky for everyone the Lakers/Nets game was an early one tonight.  The last time I saw Snoop Dogg, the show was “slightly” delayed due to a Lakers playoff game that Snoop had to watch before he could take the stage.  He took the stage, on time this night, blunt in hand.  The stage for this I Wanna Thank Me tour was flanked with two stripper poles and his DJ booth had both red and blue bandanas strung across it.  His mascot, Nasty Dogg, actually tossed out both color bandanas to the crowd.  Snoop performed all of his own hits, like “Gin and Juice,” “Sensual Seduction,” “Drop It Like It’s Hot,” “Ain’t No Fun” and “Young, Wild & Free” among many others.

He also paid respect with video tributes and cover songs of Nipsey Hussle, Nate Dogg, Easy E, Biggie and Tupac.  Snoops next stop is Miami for some Big Game festivities with Guns n’ Roses.
