JORDAN LAZ MIXES REALITY WITH ART IN THIS VIDEO PREMIERE FOR ‘BLAZE’

Jordan Laz, best known for his bassist role in the NYC punk band – Locksley, gives us this wonderfully weird video for his first solo venture. ‘Blaze’ is a visual and aural treat that also tells a story of a couple at odds with each other as they take jabs at each other in rotating verses. Is this a case of life imitating art, or has this couple just simply had enough? ‘Blaze’ is a catchy number with claps, pops and breathy vocals that has a slow and burning build up to an explosive climax and then settles back down to end the track.

After watching the video a few times it was clear to me that either these two are amazing actors or there was something else happening as their chemistry was sizzling but indifferent. Turns out that Jordan and the female lead/vocalist were a couple for 5 years that broke up during the filming of this video and the results are unreal. Despite all of that, or possibly because they channeled all of their angst towards each other – it makes for something magical with the visual affects and simplistic layout – adding layers to the already compounded back story.
