The Tibet House US was founded in 1987 and came to fruition at none other than the Dalai Lama’s request in order to ensure that the unique civilization of Tibet would be sustained. This year’s Benefit Concert will mark the 27th year that the Tibet House US has served the public.

Last year’s concert proved to be a wild event reminiscent of the days of yore at CBGB, as quoted by Rolling Stone. “For a few glorious moments, New York’s Carnegie Hall devolved into a scene straight out of a CBGB fever dream…many in the crowd could no longer take it, storming to the front of the stage and going completely apeshit. It was the kind of scene only possible at the Tibet House benefit…”
