THE LONDON SOULS + THE SKINS ROCK THE BOWERY BALLROOM

Tuesday night I witnessed one of the best rock and roll shows I’ve seen in a while…and I see a lot of shows! New York based bands; The London Souls and The Skins played a rocking, high-energy show at The Bowery Ballroom.

The night started with The Skins, led by sexy singer, Bayli and siblings, Reef on drums and Kaya Mckeithan on bass. Daisy Spencer and Russ Chell added the guitars to this Brooklyn based band that ranges in style from rock to funk to hip-hop, and in age from 15 to 21.

The room was packed and ready to rock by the time The London Souls took the stage. They were celebrating the release of their long awaited second album “Here Come The Girls.” The album was delayed due to the freak hit-and-run accident of lead singer/guitarist Tash Neal. Chris St. Hilaire rounds out this duo on drums/vocals. Chris has been compared to John Bonham, and I can see why! Not only can this guy jam, his vocals compliment Tash’s raspy voice like peanut butter and jelly. I made sure I stopped by the merch table to pick up their new cd. I can’t wait to tell people I saw both of these bands at The Bowery before they blew up.
