DROWNERS, SLOTHRUST & JULY TALK PACK BROOKLYN BOWL

On Tuesday May 19th, Drowners packed Brooklyn Bowl with fans who were ready to catch some energetic and upbeat post-punk tunes. Both opening acts, Slothrust and July Talk, exceeded my expectations and definitely got the crowd prepared for what was to come next.

The first time I caught this Brooklyn based band was at Governor’s Ball last year, and Drowners left quite an impression on bands I should keep on my radar. Their catchy song, “Luv, Hold Me Down,” gave everyone an instant energy boost to dance around with beers in hand. They definitely achieved that British punk band vibe from the 60’s and have an edgy stage presence with their all black outfits.
