CAGE THE ELEPHANT ANNOUNCE ARENA TOUR (AND WE’RE STOKED)

There are some seriously cool shows happening in NYC this summer. Of course, there are a few in particular that have stolen the conversation around everyone’s metaphorical rock & roll water cooler. Without a doubt, Cage the Elephant playing two shows at SummerStage this May 16th & 17th – alongside Portugal. the Man and Broncho – is pretty sick news for all the rockers on the island.

While most people may know Cage the Elephant for the sinful perfection that is “Ain’t No Rest for the Wicked” or the nostalgic strum of “Cigarette Daydreams,” these Kentucky-based rockers have a full discography that was made for the stage. Their powerhouse lineup is pretty stage-ready itself, hitting hard with lead vocalist Matthew Shultz, rhythm guitarist Brad Shultz, bassist Daniel Tichenor, and drummer Jared Champion. Their touring lineup also features Matthan Minster on keys/guitar and Nick Bockrath on lead guitar, so the tour will be a full one for sure.

In December, Cage the Elephant released a brand new full-length called Tell Me I’m Pretty, which features the standout tracks “Mess Around,” and “Trouble.” And if you’ve been stalking their latest setlists, you know what a good mix of old and new they’ve been dishing out in recent shows. SummerStage folks can expect to hear plenty of the classics mixed in with hits from their latest and greatest when they play this May.
