SONG PREMIERE: “DENIAL” BY PETER WISE

We are geeked to premiere the new popping single from Peter Wise today titled “Denial.” With its instantly catchy beat and powerful lyrics, “Denial,” hits all the right spots for a summertime hit. An import from Boston, Peter now makes his home in Brooklyn and writes, records and produces all of his own material, making this an impressive feat. Word is, Peter will be dropping an EP this fall, and if this track is any measuring stick, we are due for something special.

“’Denial’ is a song about the push and pull of a relationship on the ropes, two people who can live with each other and can’t live without.  The end of the hook, “‘Cause life’s too short to be alone in the wild, we’re in denial”, is really the crux of the song, the fear of being alone  I thought the phrase ‘in denial’, usually relating to drug dependence was an interesting way to refer to a relationship between two people.  I tried to fuse seventies folk rock storytelling and harmony in the vein of Joni Mitchell, The Eagles, and Earth Wind and Fire, with the modern R&B / pop sounds of Justin Timberlake, Nick Jonas, and Daft Punk.” – Peter Wise
