Tuesday

CRX @ Knitting Factory – Nick Valensi of The Strokes has a fantastic new band out and will be bringing their talents to the friendly confines of Knitting Factory, check out our review of their last show in the city here.

 

Imaginary People @ Mercury Lounge (late show) – This NYC band is known for their high energy shows that will rock your face off.

 

Wednesday

Sharon Van Etten & Beirut @ MHOW – This benefit for Planned Parenthood and the ACLU is seemingly more important than ever with the GOP planning to de-fund PP soon. There will be two nights of really great acts including Sharon Van Etten, Beirut and many more. The next night at Rough Trade HELADO NEGRO will headline.

 

Thursday

Purity Ring @ Output – Surreal pop-rock that blew us away at Bonnaroo last year at 2am. Their performances are usually accompanied by dramatic lights and stage production making it a full sensory overload in the best way possible.

 

Psychic Twin @ Good Room – Psychic Twin has played our own showcases a few times and are always fantastic with dreamy layers of synth-pop and ethereal looping harmonies.

 

Friday

Slick Rick @ Brooklyn Bowl – If you like hip-hop, then you know that Slick Rick is an OG of the highest order, making this show something that shouldn’t be missed.

 

Tokyo Police Club @ Bowery Ballroom – The Canadian Indie-rockers have been at it for a dozen years now and plays a nice small room this time out, don’t miss it.

 

Saturday

Jans Ingber’s Funk Fellowship @ Brooklyn Bowl – If you feel like getting funky, we presume this will fix you up nicely with Rachel Price from Lake Street Dive, Scott Metzger and more special guests.

 

Heems @ Brooklyn Bazaar – Get your Rap/hip-hop fix at the Bazaar with NYC’s own Heems. He will blow you away with danceable grooves and an effortless delivery.
