We are happy to premiere the new single from Hot Curl called “Warped” today on Pancakes And Whiskey.
Laden with jangly reverbed guitars, lo-fi bass and ethereal vocals “Warped” is best served on a hot summer day at the beach, with a joint in hand or a tab on the tongue. But that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy this rolling track in the office or a stuffy subway platform while we dream of warm sand between our toes – and that’s the power of this song, the ability to transport us elsewhere while we bounce our head to the beat.
Clocking in at nearly 6 minutes, the track weaves in and out of reality, and for the last few minutes there’s some serious guitar noodling that brings it all home. All in all, this is an impressive track from the Brooklyn band and if this tune is any indication, their upcoming EP should be straight-fire.
