A R I Z O N A is constantly referenced as one of the most-streamed groups on Spotify. Their hit single “Oceans Away” logged over 66 million Spotify plays in less than six months and they have nine million monthly listeners. But A R I Z O N A is so much more than its streaming success. The trio that formed in Boston embodies raw and contemporary dance music. Along with COIN, A R I Z O N A brought its charisma and chill vibes to (le) poisson rouge on Thursday.
Nathan Esquite, David Labuguen, and Zachary Hannah create electronic pop musings that are deep and meaningful. On stage the group is equally present- interacting with the crowd, telling anecdotes about certain songs and feeding off of the energy on stage and in the room. A R I Z O N A performed their newest single “Electric Touch,” “I Was Wrong,” “Cross My Mind” and previewed other songs off of their forthcoming album.
COIN, followed A R I Z O N A with a heart pounding set. The Nashville-based foursome secured its own headlining tour after touring with Walk The Moon, Passion Pit and Neon Trees. The guys’ intensity elevated the crowd and had everyone singing along to the carefree and catchy lyrics. COIN played songs off of their second album, How Will You Know If You Never Try (released April 21, 2017), like “Boyfriend” and “Talk Too Much.”
A R I Z O N A kicked off its “GALLERY” tour in conjunction with COIN’s “How Will You Know If You Never Try” tour a couple of weeks ago. They will be promoting the forthcoming debut album (out May 19th) by playing a series of live shows and festivals, including Hangout Music Fest, Governors Ball and Lollapalooza.
