PANCAKE PICKS: THE BEST SHOWS OF THE WEEK FOR 2-26-18

Winter is just about over, the birds are singing and the weather feels great, so head on out to a show using our handy Pancake Picks below to help guide you to some of the best gigs of the week.

Monday

Lights & Chase Atlantic @ Irving Plaza – This will be an incredible double-bill that will start your week off with soaring and danceable pop.

Tiffany Wilson @ Mercury Lounge – Tiffany Wilson is a singer/songwriter celebrating the release of her debut EP at Mercury Lounge in the early slot, so go party with her and make sure to wish Tiffany a happy birthday as well, because it’s today!

Tuesday

Jon Batiste @ Bowery Ballroom – Well know for his bandleader role for The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Batiste is an incredible musician that brings tons of heart along with his tremendous piano chops.

Wednesday

Sevdaliza @ LPRIf you haven’t seen her yet, this is your chance to catch the Iranian/Dutch singer/songwriter and her eclectic and atmospheric take on pop in an intimate setting.

Elliot Root @ Mercury Lounge – Elliot Root is an alternative band from Nashville that has a full sound and will be featuring new songs off their newest album, Conjure.

Thursday

Vista Kicks @ Mercury Lounge – Catch this band at all costs at the tiny Mercury Lounge now before they’re headlining much bigger rooms with their catchy and memorable rock show. Their debut album, Booty Shakers Ball, released late last year is full of tasty tracks that we cannot wait to hear live.

Boytoy & Honduras @ Elsewhere – A few of our favorite local bands will be kicking up a ruckus at Elsewhere and should be a fine night.

Friday

High Waisted & Kitten @ Bowery Ballroom – High Waisted has a new guitarist and bassist so should be fun seeing the new lineup. But make sure to get there plenty early to catch Kitten, Cold Fronts and Suburban Living.

The Wind & The Wave @ Mercury – This folk-rock duo has it all – harmonies for days, lyrics that touch the heart and a live show that will have you buzzing for days.

Saturday

Carly Simon & Patti Smith @ Carnegie Hall – The 31st annual Tibet House US benefit show, once again, brings a star-studded lineup including Carly Simon, Patti Smith, Blood Orange, Phillip Glass, St. Paul & The Broken bones and many more to Carnegie Hall.

Computer Magic & Brothertiger @ Knitting Factory – Another great billing with three fine bands for cheap at the Knit.

Sunday

Teen Commandments @ ElsewhereHarris Mac and Teen Commandments will play the newish and ultra-cool venue Elsewhere – and any band that has headlined one of our showcases is definitely one to catch.
