Pancakes And Whiskey is excited to premiere the new video from Cf Watkins called “The Tell” today. The video, while fairly simple, is a gorgeous piece of videography (by Griffin Hart Davis) that has Watkins dancing around flowing sheets of magically-lit fabric as the mesmerizing track plays. Starting with meandering percussion and a sticky bass-line, the track is highlighted by Cf Watkins’ clear and powerful lyrics that relay a sense of empowerment and self-love. If you’re digging this track, then we have good news for you as Cf Watkins has a full LP entitled Babygirl headed straight at us on 10-16-20 which you can pre-save right now on your favorite streaming service.

“‘The Tell” was probably the last song that I wrote for Babygirl. I really wanted a song on the album that represented empowerment and “The Tell” is what came out.  Griffin Hart Davis, a North Carolina based photographer, videographer and a long time collaborator of mine, came up with the vision for the video. He created these beautiful, ethereal sets out of fabric, paper, and what seemed to me like very methodical lighting. Griffin is such a talent-  he is focused but always open for new ideas to come or for something to surprise him. It was summer in an un-airconditioned warehouse in NC and I was dancing take after take in long sleeves and thick jeans- but the outcome was worth it!” – Cf Watkins
